Grilled Chicken with Orange and Brown Sugar Glaze

I saw Bobby Flay make this on BBQ Addiction. I put my own twist on it and it is a WOW flavor! It’s all about the glaze. I can guarantee this will be one of your favorite grilling recipes!

Ingredients:
Serves 4

3 boneless chicken breasts

1 tsp of salt

1 tsp of pepper

oil for the chicken and the grill

Glaze:
2 cups of orange juice

1 1/2 cups of brown sugar

1 cup of catsup

1 Tbs of Worcestershire

1/2 tsp of liquid smoke

1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper (or to taste)

1 tsp of paprika

1 smashed garlic clove (just let it simmer in the glaze and then remove it)

1/2 tsp of salt

1/2 tsp of black pepper

2 Tbs of butter

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, add the orange juice, brown sugar, catsup, Worcestershire, liquid smoke, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic clove, and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, turn down the heat to low and simmer until the mixture reduces by about 1/3 and starts to thicken. Add in the butter.
Meanwhile, prepare the chicken. Rub both sides with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Prepare the grill. Sear the chicken on both sides til browned and beautiful. Move to indirect heat and brush on the glaze. Cook for about 30 to 40 minutes if using breasts, (less time for thighs) turning and glazing often.
Remove from the grill and slice into pieces about 1 inch thick.
Plate the chicken, sprinkle with chopped chives and drizzle on more glaze.
It’s fun to eat this like a lettuce wrap, with either Bibb or Iceberg leaves.
